1. Calculate the Square Footage of Your Room
Measure the length and width of the room and multiply. For example, 12 ft long x 10 ft wide = 120 square feet.
2. Consider Ceiling Height
Most fans work with 8 or 9 foot ceilings. If your ceilings are taller, you will need a downrod for your fan. Fans should have a minimum of 7 feet of clearance between the bottom of the fan blades and the floor.
